About
Rights-based family planning is an approach that emphasizes fulfilling the rights of individuals to make informed decisions about their reproductive health, including the choice of having children and ensuring access to comprehensive and non-discriminatory sexual and reproductive health services.
Over the last several years, global and country actors are increasingly interrogating programs and practices to ensure that the rights of clients are considered and respected.

FP2030 promotes rights-based family planning through up-to-date research and program initiatives. We encourage using best practices and aid organizations in incorporating human rights into their family planning efforts.

FP2030 provides a robust platform for the discussion of family planning with a focus on human rights. The platform fosters collaboration and learning among stakeholders to confidently drive forward related initiatives.

Collaboration
FP2030 promotes family planning through collaboration with organizations such as EngenderHealth, IPPF, Marie Stopes International, Palladium, Population Council, and USAID SIFPO 2 Project. Through these partnerships, we aim to improve our programs and make rights-based family planning a reality. All of this is done with an unrelenting focus on human rights.

Advocacy for Human Rights
FP2030 ensures that human rights are central to family planning policies, programs, and measurement. We recognize that integrating rights-based approaches into family planning programming is challenging but crucial. By advocating for human rights in family planning, FP2030 aims to develop sustainable, equitable, and effective programs that have a lasting impact on individuals and communities.
