Margaret Pyke Trust

The Margaret Pyke Trust has been a leader in contraception and sexual health for over 50 years.

Today, in the UK, they train doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on contraception and sexual health, providing the broadest range of contraception and sexual health training in the UK. Internationally, they develop projects with partners in low- and middle-income countries, to improve sexual and reproductive health, focusing on family planning information and services.

By 2027, the Magaret Pyke Trust, working with its partners, will increase the number of policies and publications recognizing the critical importance of the removal of barriers to family planning as a pillar of climate and biodiversity action.

Margaret Pyke Trust Commitment Narratives

  • Build new coalitions in at least three countries to advocate for the inclusion of SRHR and the removal of barriers to family planning in national biodiversity, climate, and development plans or policies.
  • Train 2,500 senior environmental conservation practitioners from 70 countries on the importance of SRHR and the removal of barriers to family planning, emphasizing the health, wellbeing, and empowerment of girls and women.
  • Encourage at least ten IUCN member organizations to revise their internal organizational strategies, policies, and publications to reflect the significance of SRHR and the removal of barriers to family planning.
  • Ensure that IUCN policies and processes recognize and integrate SRHR and the removal of barriers to family planning as an essential part of conservation policy and practice.
