In 2016, WomanCare Global (WCG) and Population Services International (PSI) provided an update on their commitment to the Family Planning 2020 initiative.
Their partnership expanded access to family planning services by introducing new contraceptive methods, addressing barriers to use, ensuring product quality, and promoting awareness and demand through communication and outreach efforts.

With the focused deployment and expansion of resources for family planning programs from existing funding sources, this partnership expanded access to an array of reproductive health products and managed large-scale distribution, increased the usage of long-acting, reversible contraceptives, developed new products and monitored the quality of existing products, and provided training and other forms of country-specific support.

WomanCare Global and PSI Commitment Narratives
- WCG and PSI aimed to provide women with a wider range of contraceptive choices. New methods, such as non-hormonal options, were introduced to address barriers to contraceptive use.
- WCG’s expertise in supply chain management and quality assurance played a vital role. The partnership established rigorous quality standards and conducted compliance audits to ensure the safety and effectiveness of reproductive health products.
- PSI’s strength in health communications and social marketing was utilized to increase awareness and demand for family planning services. Through interpersonal communication, community events, and mHealth initiatives, they reached out to potential users, providing information and counseling.
