Working towards global reproductive choice; autonomy and empowerment; and gender equality.
The third decade of the 21st century is marked by an unprecented presence of 1.9 billions adolescents and youth (10-24) in the globe. A decade from now, this demographic will form a critical part of the workforce of the world. We have an exciting opportunity not only to do more but to also do better for adolescents and youth globally.
FP2030 has a vision of equipping AY to have the freedom and ability to make informed decisions about their SRHR. This intentionality is demonstrated by the presence of an AY Manager in each FP2030 hub (Abuja, Kuala Lumpur, Niarobi, and Panama). As we all look forward to a 2030 where all young people are thriving in their health and wellbeing, the five pillars below highlight what we will be doing to guarantee this future for AY.
Priority Areas
Adolescents & Youth
1
Showcasing High-Impact Service Delivery Models for AY SRHR
We identify, disseminate, and advocate for innovative service delivery models tailored to AY SRHR needs. By building alliances with governments, civil society organizations, and youth-led organizations, and sharing high impact practices (HIPs), our goal is to enhance service quality and delivery across the globe.
2
Prioritization of AY in Country Commitments, Programs, and Policies
We ensure AY receive priority in global, regional, and national FP/SRH commitments and programs. By engaging with stakeholders, governments, and youth-led organizations, our goal is to effect change at multiple levels, with youth participating in policy development and implementation.
3
Data-Driven Decision-Making
Data is at the core of our strategy. We promote innovative data collection models, analysis, and utilization to inform policies and initiatives. We push for data disaggregation to ensure that age-specific and essential AY indicators are considered.
4
Championing Youth Leadership in the FP/SRH Sector
We are committed to fostering leadership for young people in advocacy, accountability, and youth-inclusive programming. Through skill-building initiatives, mentorship programs, and the amplification of grassroots voices, our goal is to harness the power of youth.
5
Building Allies for Adolescents and Youth in Decision-Making Spaces
We acknowledge that AY may not always be present at every decision-making table. However, the commitment to invest in and support their well-being is unwavering. By forging alliances with various stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and international bodies, we aim to create youth-focused ambassadors, who prioritize the needs of AY even if young people themselves are not physically present in every discussion.
We’re dedicated to advancing the rights of people everywhere to access reproductive health services safely & on their own terms.
Join our effort to build the future we want.
