India's family planning efforts include the provision of free contraceptives through public health facilities, the training of health workers to provide high-quality family planning services, and the promotion of awareness and education on family planning through mass media campaigns.
Commitments made to:
India’s 2030 commitment ensures access to and range of contraceptives with the addition of new choices, improving
healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy (HTSP) through
postpartum family planning (PPFP), including urban areas under MPV, intensifying social and behavior change communication (SBCC) for all age groups, especially young people, and engaging civil society organizations for awareness generation and mobilizing the community for family planning.
