The FP2030 Performance Monitoring and Evidence (PME) Working Group held its first biannual meeting of 2025 in Washington, DC from March 11-13. This was the first PME Working Group meeting since the widespread cuts to U.S. foreign assistance and the dismantling of USAID. The objectives of the meeting were designed to meet the moment and included:

  1. Discussing the changing family planning/global development landscape
  2. Reporting on measurement advancement efforts both ongoing and forthcoming, including person-centered indicators and reproductive autonomy and,
  3. Review quantitative goalsetting strategies for FP2030.

Additionally, the group also attended the Future of Family Planning Convening co-hosted by the William H. Gates Sr. Institute for Population and Reproductive Health and FP2030. Between a data and research focused breakout group, a presentation on analysis of the family planning financing gap, and sessions with country partners sharing insights on impacts to the field, the PME Working Group was an integral part of this convening.

FP2030 lastly welcomes two new members to the group: Dr. Syed Khurram Azmat (Marie Stopes International Pakistan) and Dr. Mahesh Karra (Boston University). The PME Working Group is now 27 members strong, with 23 general members, one early career fellow, and three co-leads (Aurelie Brunie, Elizabeth Sully, and Funmilola OlaOlorun).
