Uganda Youth Alliance for Family Planning and Adolescent Health

Uganda Youth Alliance for Family Planning and Adolescent Health (UYAFPAH)'s mission is to promote high quality, high impact and gender sensitive sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights information for vulnerable and most at-risk populations of young people (14-35 years) in Uganda through capacity building, issue-specific advocacy and strategic partnerships.

By 2030, UYAFPAH expects to have strengthened support for implementation and domestication of approved and exiting policy documents on Adolescent Health, with the Adolescent Health Strategy in place and in operation in the country, as a way of mitigating and reducing the teenage pregnancy rates and increasing access to modern contraceptive commodities.

Uganda Youth Alliance for Family Planning and Adolescent Health Commitment Narratives

  • Advocate for the approval and implementation of the Adolescent Health Strategy in Uganda.
  • Strengthen support from Adult Partners RHU, SAMASHA, and MOH for the implementation and domestication of approved and existing policy documents on Adolescent Health.
  • Raise awareness among young people and communities about Family Planning and Reproductive Health through rights-based, evidence-based, and issue-specific advocacy.
  • Provide information and education on Family Planning and Reproductive Health to young people and communities in accordance with existing policy guidelines.
  • Mitigate and reduce teenage pregnancy rates in Uganda through targeted interventions and awareness campaigns.
  • Reduce child marriages in Uganda through advocacy and policy measures.
  • Increase access to modern contraceptive commodities for young people in Uganda.
  • Facilitate the uptake of Family Planning commodities by the youth in Uganda.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, including Adult Partners RHU, SAMASHA, and MOH, to achieve the objectives by 2030.
